Neighbours and Strangers is the 2017 one-day conference of the Society for Medieval Languages and Literature, publishers of the journal Medium Aevum.

The conference is hosted by the Department of English and Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Culture, University of Southampton.

Travel

Accommodation

On-campus accommodation is not available for this event, as it takes place in term time. Hotels within walking distance of the conference venue include the Travelodge (144 Lodge Road), the Highfield House Hotel and Elizabeth House Hotel. There are numerous hotels at all budgets in Southampton city centre.

Accessibility

The conference will be held in a ground-floor lecture theatre, with lunch and refreshments in a ground-floor corridor space open onto a garden quadrangle. Accessible toilets are near to the lecture theatre.

Food and refreshments

The conference registration fee includes coffee and light refreshments at regular points through the day, and a buffet lunch. You will be able to advise of any dietary requirements during the online booking process.
